Start with Ibla

The Duomo di San Giorgio, Ibla’s squares and palaces are a good starting point. Alternate well-known sights with narrow lanes: often you only need to look up to notice a balcony or a detail in the stone. Visit during the day for the chance to enter its distinctive palaces and churches. Look beyond Baroque art and appreciate the grandeur of the surrounding nature, too.

How much time to allow

Time is very personal and depends on your passions and interests. If you love art, even three days will not be enough to visit the 45 churches, noble palaces and cathedral museum. If you are drawn to the medieval layout and simply want to see it from outside, one day is more than enough. We suggest arriving in Ibla in the morning and spending as much time as you wish; afterwards, climb to Ragusa Superiore and visit the city’s second historic centre.
